About Us

Hey everyone, my name is Jaylyn most call me Jay. The owner of Blush & Bull Boutique. My logo has so much meaning behind it. The flowers are my parents and siblings birth month flowers and the cow skull means home its even tattooed on my forearm as you see in most of my photos.  I am a full time cosmetologist at Lavish Salon & Spa in downtown Rock Island. In winter of 2020 I decided I wanted to take on another adventure. I have always had a unique style a little bit of country (western/boho) mixed with a little bit of city (chic) and threw it all together. In spring of 2021 I opened Blush & Bull. At pop up events and social media first. I then decided I could no longer run my business out of my one bedroom apartment and moved to a small storefront into Lavish Salon. It was a glorified closet but the perfect place to begin. Fast forward to April of 2022, I have remodeled and opened a full store front located next door to Lavish in downtown Rock Island. I now have a full website as you see. There is always room for improvement, but I am beyond proud and excited for where I am today. I ,also, have a traveling boutique trailer to take to different vendor shows. I met my fiancé right when I started the boutique and let me tell you he defiantly stepped up he was selling women's clothing like he was a professional. There for me every step of the way. Whether it was unpacking new clothes, carrying clothes, wherever I needed it put. Packing and unpacking for vendor shows and most of all listening to me go insane because I was so busy and stressed to no end; taking on way more than I thought I could handle at moments. Now a year later we got engaged at my grand opening. Don't let him fool you he still works at the boutique. He likes to call himself the boutique "manager", so I just agree with him and let him have his moment (haha). Somedays I wonder how I manage hair full time, traveling back to my parents in my hometown, running the boutique, and somehow still have a life. Snowmobiling and boating are my two favorite hobbies. I love to travel and am always on the go. Everyone says I don't know how to not be busy. I may be a bit of a workaholic but I truly do enjoy it. I was born and raised in a small town called Washburn, IL and moved to the quad cities in February of 2019. I never thought I would be where I am today or have the support group and friends that I have. Taylor ridge, IL is now where I call home and love getting my fill of the city everyday at work. I have 2 dogs Oakley and Kacy and a kitty named Mini. I have 2 older brothers and a younger sister. My parents own Kullscape Outdoor Living in Peoria, IL and they are the ones that instilled me with the work ethic I have today. They raised me to be a go getter and never give up. I could talk for hours and never run out of things to say but I am a terrible multitasker (haha). Come down to the storefront and say hello!
